This client had a specific plan in mind! They wanted a very modern and clean look with minimal deposits in the cantera stone. They were going to perform the work themselves since they were personally remodeling the entire home. They chose a stone named blanco tinajeras.

The stone was cut into 6″ x 12″ blocks with a pillow cut fashion making it taller in the center and thinner on the ends. It was installed in a brick pattern and is fairly self supporting as it was installed. The look is quite unique and has a very modern flair to it. And who said you can’t use cantera in a modern application?!?!?

Using different textures of material – the wooden hearth – the marbel hearth and the semi rough stone create a unique feel in the home.
